Mint Museum Uptown at Levine Center for the Arts
Immersed in Light: Studio Drift at The Mint Museum is the first museum exhibition in the United States for one of the most talented design and art teams working today. Studio Drift, founded by Dutch artists Lonneke Gordijn (b.1980)and Ralph Nauta (b.1978), creates breathtaking sculptures that explore the relationship between humanity, nature and technology. This exhibition will feature five works by Studio Drift dating from the last decade to today, most of which have been modified for the Mint, and one installation, Coded Coincidence, premiering here. Studio Drift takes on several roles in the process of creation, working not only as artists but also as researchers, manufacturers, and engineers. As a result, the works defy the classification of medium.
