Preludios y Partidas by Cristina Córdova
A PROJECTTenTenTen commission
for the Mint Museum of Craft + Design Uptown
“My work is meant to address people who thrive in environments of emotional density.
People who are used to walking through moments of intensity
can relate to my work because I think
the symbolism I use is generated from these places.”
Preludios y Partidas is permanently on display in the Uptown: Level 4 Ceramics Gallery.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Christina Cordova is a ceramics artist living in Penland, North Carolina. She received her MFA in ceramics from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Cordova's work has been described as "a compelling strain of magical reaslism... laden with ideas of creation, crucifixion and the difficult nature of existence" by Atlanta's Creative Loafing.
