Michael Sherrill Retrospective

A Beautiful Death, 2017 (detail)

The museum honors Concord native Rick Horton, whose work is featured in the upcoming exhibition Under Construction: Collage from The Mint MuseumHis emerging career was cut tragically short due to his death from HIV/AIDS in 1990.

World AIDS Day is December 1 and its theme is "Know Your Status." Over 35 million people have died from HIV/AIDS and over 36 million people worldwide are living with the disease.

Much progress has been made since the death of this artist and so many (too many) others. Testing is key, but there are still many barriers. Join us this World AIDS Day in raising awareness about the importance of knowing one’s status and calling for the removal of all barriers to accessing HIV testing
