The Mint Museum is excited to host Women of Abstract Expressionism, the first major museum exhibition focusing on women in the movement’s seminal years. This groundbreaking exhibition features large-scale, colorful and energy filled canvases to delight and inspire visitors.  Organized by the Denver Museum of Art, it brings together over 50 paintings by women working on the East and West Coasts between the years 1945-1960.  Many well-known and lesser known artists are featured in the exhibition.  The exhibition includes renowned artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, and Grace Hartigan; as well as Perle Fine, Jay DeFeo, Mary Abbott and Judith Godwin.  Visit works from major museums, private collections and artist's estates.  Experience the unique voices of these women artists of Abstract Expressionism.
