Here & Now: 80 Years of Photography at the Mint is the first survey exhibition of photography drawn solely from the Mint’s permanent collection and features approximately 100 of the Mint’s most stunning and provocative photographs, including recent acquisitions and many never-before-seen treasures alongside signature works. By its nature, photography has always been a medium rooted in the moment. Here & Now includes photographs taken in the 1930s, as well as those taken only last year. From photographs such as Dorothea Lange and Ansel Adams, to Annie Leibovitz and Vik Muniz, the photography presented ranges from conceptually-based practices to those rooted in genres such as landscape, portraiture, and architecture. Here & Now offers a fresh perspective on an exciting, diverse, and burgeoning area of strength within the Mint’s collection.
